My Blog On Mundane Interview Questions Took Flight To The Top Of Google Search
Here is how it became featured snippet (aka position zero) and this is what I learned
There is very little drama in my life. I am glad this happened earlier this week.
I called my mom and asked her to type in the phrase (without quotes) — mundane interview. My blog was number uno. She asked, “what’s the big deal?” I thought for a moment and said, “Mom, this has lower odds than getting into Harvard or MIT.”
That perked her up. She was hooked.
Personal sidebar: I figured it out because I was getting massive external view count for my blog through google.
What surprised me. I wrote it on a whim because I was bored and I was full of unconventional ideas that seem to resonate with a fellow middle ager who wanted to frame ways to answer mundane interview questions. For context: the middle ager was interviewing after decades at the same company.
Today, my blog is google’s featured snippet. Apparently not first search, it’s called search zero in the geek world.
